Dave,

I've had some OCD problems myself, like the time I came begging you for a brass cheesehead screw to match the other 5 on my H6s.

Seems like a logical solution (to an OCD problem) would be for you and Simon to agree to trade one double vent for one single vent, including the piston also of course...

I find this interesting, as I, too, have one of each. It bothers the OCD part of me, but I’ve been able to live with it for the 19 years I’ve had the car. I guess I can continue to live with it.

Hi, Here are a couple of pics. I’m after the two shouldered version. Sadly, there are no (visible) numbers stamped on or within it and the detachable tabs above the three float chambers rather confusingly have the same numbers.

I have three HD6s in my car. When I bought them from a place that renovated Jag Mk IIs I didn’t notice that 2 of the carbs have 2 shoulders on top of the dashpot whilst the third has only one.

They work perfectly well in concert and I have no worries about function. However, it’s begun to irritate me and I’ve been looking for one on eBay.

So, tell me…..which is the most common version….two shoulders or one?

Thanks,

Simon
