[Healeys] Brake Problem (addendum)

It should not be an issue with the brake shoe materials used now days. In the past, when I had my shoes relined instead of buying new, I took my drums and the shop arced them.

I was told a few years ago that the insurance carriers for garages required them to dispose of their arcing machines due to liability issues with asbestos particles in the air.
