Hi Simon,
All 3000's have one as standard. But yours is now over 50 years old.....
The rubber eventually delaminates, and the standard 50 year old one wasn't a particularly good design.

On an aftermarket steel crank you need a better one, but this one is fine up to 6,000 rpm
