Your best bet is to ship using Crown Worldwide / 20ft container.  Crown is
a specialist in moving things globally, and the important thing is they
control both sides of the trade (i.e. Crown will ship it out, and Crown
will receive it in Italy).  Most freight forwarders and logistics people
won't do it this way, and usually someone else receives it, and containers
can be badly loaded by people who don't know what they are doing.  I've
moved many cars with them.

This way if there's a problem, you have someone to call locally and
complain.  Also, I'm friends with the owner so I can always send complaints
to him to get it sorted.

Another option is Roll On Roll Off, but with that you have the risk of
people driving your car on the carrier and off the carrier, but it is
cheaper.
