[Healeys] Tachometer Cable Routing

There is no hole in the firewall provided for the tach cable. It runs behind the engine and is clamped in the sealing strip between the firewall and the transmission cover plate. That allows the cable to run in gentle curves without kinking.

Without as little bends as possible, whatever the original routing. Avoid tight bends especially.

Hello

A friend has asked about the correct routing of the tachometer cable in his right hand drive 100.

It of course comes from the exhaust/carb side of the engine, but then does it go straight back towards the firewall, through it and across behind the dash to the tach? Or does it cross the engine bay behind the engine, then through the firewall and straight back to the tach?

A photo would be perfect.

Many thanks
