[Healeys] Tachometer Cable Routing

Hello

 

A friend has asked about the correct routing of the tachometer cable in his
right hand drive 100.

 

It of course comes from the exhaust/carb side of the engine, but then does
it go straight back towards the firewall, through it and across behind the
dash to the tach? Or does it cross the engine bay behind the engine, then
through the firewall and straight back to the tach?

 

A photo would be perfect.
