[Healeys] Generators

This or similar products have been on the market for years. You can
solder/braze, not weld, almost any aluminium containing alloys, even
zamak. It looks very easy in the film, but it will need quite a lot of
practice before you get a proper result and a total melt down of the
item to be repaired can happen fairly easily. It is also rather
expensive as far as I can remember. I have seen it demonstrated on
nearly all classic car shows in the Netherlands and Belgium for at least
the last 30 years.
The thread repair looks a bit doubtful to me but I may be a bit to
suspicious as a retired consumer researcher.
