[Healeys] Are these holes original?

Thanks guys - I appreciate the replies. So, the consensus would be that the
holes were for a previously mounted luggage rack. Which makes sense,
because the car also has nuts & bolts going through the trunk hinges where
the pins would normally be.
Which would lead to a follow up question - does anyone know where I could
get just the hinge pins (or something equivalent) instead of paying Moss
$60 per for each hinge? Does anyone have a couple lying around? :-)

It's only a few inches wide, and is really just for repairing the rusty
bottom lip.
