I don't have a dog in this fight and I usually try to be more like Kees and often try to either stay out of things or even try to keep the peace, but I am also advancing into my old opinionated man stage of life so here goes.

Josef, if you can't distinguish the difference someone swapping out plates on a 100 to a 100M to make some fast and fraudulent bucks and someone takes two cars to make one out of enthusiasm for a particular kind of car and a desire to enjoy and have one one the road again, well, I was going to throw out some kind of insult but I really don't have words.

There was, in my opinion, once a better time when we were most all just happy as hell to own a car that looked good and ran well. Some were fortunate enough to have such a car because it was new, or a well preserved and factory original, others took parts from more than one car that was too far gone in one way, and parts from another that was too far gone in another to make one decent car, either out of a simple need to have something to drive, our out of a desire to have a neat and desireable car we couldn't otherwise afford.

If people didnt have the love of cars needed to do this there would be a lot fewer Healeys and other interesting old cars around today, they would have all gone to the scrapper.

Your opinion that there is only one "right way" to do things regarding cars that you express all the time is really getting to be like a bad record that is skipping and playing the same song over and over again.

PS, I also don't agree with you assessement of what is not legal or illegal in a "constitutional democracy". In a constitutional democracy a man should have the right to do what he wants with his own property as long as he is not infringing on the safety and rights of others.

What you are describing as your version of eutopia is what I would call a totalitarian state.
