[Healeys] Convertible Top.

Long ago, someone told me that my Healey was a roadster and I have been calling it that ever since. My California registration certificate lists the Body Type Model as "RD" (roadster?). Here is what my BL Heritage certificate says:
"Thank you for your enquiry of 17 August concerning your Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III convertible".
(Note that Austin-Healey has the hyphen. I'm talking August, 1982, here)

A convertible has a retractible hood that is affixed to the car and roll up windows. A roadster (which hardly ever has the top up!!) has a removable hood, stowed in the rear, with side curtains. I am befuddled at the need (desire?) to change everything. IMHO.

That's too difficult, not fair ;-). Is the frame also fixed to the car? Sorry for my ignorance, but BN2:s doesn't grow on trees over here. Admit that there are a few around, but as I also always have seen them as roadsters I've never thought about it.

So what is a BN2? It has an erectable hood, and it's most definitely fixed to the car (by 6 bolts)? I always considered it a roadster, just like my dad's Model A.

I think we have to get the definitions right. A convertible is a vehicle that has a removable top, but the top is fixed to the car. Like the case is with BJ7 and BJ8. The BT7 is a roadster, meaning that the top is removable, and is not fixed to the vehicle. I suggest a simple Googling on this and you will get the terms right.
