Early offerings by the Donald Healey Company for a Le Mans upgrade did not
include the louvred bonnet and strap. Why should they? the two cars raced
at Le Mans did not have them and owners were asking for their cars to be
the same.

However to reduce the under bonnet heat Roger Menedue told he that they
just unlatched the rear of the bonnet and fitted a lump of wood. If you
look at  the photos you will see that on the race cars the bonnet is
slightly open at the rear.
