[Healeys] BJ8 Dash - Extra Hole

I have an extra hole in a BJ8 dash that measures 1 1/2” in diameter. Does anyone know what I might be put there to make it look like it belongs. I’m finishing this restoration for the son of a club member who now has ALS and is not able to tell us what was there before he took the car apart. Thanks for your help.
