[Healeys] 6-36 screws

Thanks for the comments so far.  I don't need the whole kit-just trying to
replace the existing screws which are a bit chewed up.  I did get 4 from
British Car Specialists, but they are slotted head, and a tad too long.  I
could cut them down, but without a nut to protect the threads, and no a die
to cut them, I would likely bugger them up grinding off a mm or so.  The
slotted head also makes them very difficult to screw in.  

 

As for size, they are definitely not 6-32, nor are they 6-40; the screws
will not thread into nuts of either those sizes.  And they also not metric.
It is hard to get the thread gauge on such a short shaft, but capturing 4 or
5 threads they certainly appear to be 6-36.  Hence, the quest.  I'm not sure
if slotted or Phillips is correct for these either, but Phillips is
certainly easier to use and saver around the soft, painted frames.
