G'day
By all means Kees is right about the certain amount of bling that ceramic
coating provides and of course there is nothing wrong with that. However it
does reduce the amount of underbonnet heat.
Both the exhaust manifolds of our Healey Duncan and the BN3 have been
ceramic coated and I am very pleased with it. The inlet manifold in the BN3
has also been ceramic coated in clear.
Attached is a photo of where the BN3 is currently at, showing both.

Remove rust chemically and leave it as is. At the most spray with heat
resistant aluminium paint.
All other treatments are expensive and without function other than
bling-bling.
