[Healeys] Throw out bearing

Great information on the Denis Welch and AH Spares release bearing option.
The AH Spares description says: "It can only be used with a diaphragm clutch
cover which needs to have the central thrust pad removed." As I recall, the
diaphragm type clutch pressure plate was used on later models, at least not
on BN7/BT7 models. Is the diaphragm pressure plate interchangeable with the
earlier lever type? I also recall that the diameter of the clutch disk was
different.

Subject: [Healeys] Throw out bearing

After pulling the engine and transmission to address the oil in the coolant
problem, I see that the throw out bearing is probably 75% worn while the
clutch disk is maybe 25% worn. Short of the Toyota transplant, has anyone
come up with a modification to replace the carbon disk throw out bearing
with a modern concentric bearing?
