[Healeys] air cleaners

Gents:

With advancing age and decrepitude, it’s become way more than a 2 beer job.  It now takes me 2 beers just to find all the bits that I drop!

I use 1 regular 1/2” combo spanner (Sears), 1 very thin, very cheap of the same, 1  1/2” very cheap cut in half combo spanner, and a lot of bad language as well.

That's the shape I bend my arm in...  I reach down on one side, then under and back up to the nut I'm working on.  I'm literally up to my armpit in the car to get them.

  BTW there are meant to be 5/16" UNF studs installed in the filters and you use nuts and lock washers to secure the filters.
  As Earl would say re & re filters BJ8 is a 2 beer job.

  I now have a BJ8 with HD8 carbs.  Any helpful hints on how to remove the air cleaners?  The only attachments are the two bolts through the carb flanges, which are not very accessible.  I can get at the outside ones ok, and one of the inside ones, sort of.
