The May 2014 issue of Octane magazine has a bio of Martin Smith, design director for Ford of Europe. He rallys a 3000 works replica. There is a small picture of a Eifel Classic Prigram with the car on the cover. 

I have the new Pete Brock book on the design of the Sting Ray Corvette. Pages 44 and 45 show the Harley Earl styling clays for the C2 (thankfully not making it to production). In the background are GM's 300SL and 100. I believe the pictures were taken in 1955, possibly 1956. The 100 is a dark color, seems to have a Lucas electric demisting bar, one driving light, and a short bumper mounted badge bar.
