Once I partialy restored a Mercedes C107. After the paintjob the car was
transported to a specialis to get is assembled. They also "lost" a couple
of things and they claimed that it is still at my workshop. Sad for them,
but I took a series of photos and took a list when I moved the car. Biggest
thing they could eventualy "loose" was the complete stainless steel exhaust
system (the car is V8 so this is a rather BIG item). Things like that
happen. The owner is a lawyer, so later most of the items were "found" or
replaced by the Merc specilaist.

If I loose a customers property, thats my problem, not his. Things work
like that even in eastern europe. Its completely unacceptable to make a
loss and blaim it on the owner.
