[Healeys] Fan

I've heard that some see movement of the blade tips, but mine doesn't move
any detectable amount even at high revs. I have a Texas Kooler that I
bought from the North Texas AHC in November 2000 when they used it as a fund
raiser ("Texas Kooler" was their name for it). I understood at that time
that the fan was actually manufactured by Hayden. Maybe the later similar
fans are another example of finding "better", cheaper ways to manufacture
them in China.
I know that Moss had some problems with fatigue failures with their metal
six-blade fans (also made in China). One of them shed two blades in my car,
put a 2" gash in the radiator header tank, and was only prevented from doing
the same to my bonnet by the homemade fan shroud that I had installed
(attached to the fan guard and at the sides riveted to the radiator frame).
Did Moss really have trouble with failures of their plastic fan?

The one I have moves forward at the tips about 1/4" at high revs (kinda hard
to measure exactly).
