[Healeys] My Car

The first guy left in the middle of the night before my car was finished. He only had one base coat on it and he left it ourside! I recovered the car and brought it to the second guy, which to his credit found out the first guys idea of painting a car is to slather on a 1/4 inch of bondo and sculpt a car out of it. The second painter removed the bondo and did the metal work required, but he got lazy when it came time to prep the car properly and painted the car in his shop with no protection from contaminants. Subsequently, there were runs in the clear coat and dirt in the paint itself. The paint itself was lifting up off the primer in spots. Don't as me how many thousands of dollars I spent up to this point. The third painter has a much better reputation than the first two and is anchored to his shop with Ferrari, Jags, Maserati and other sports cars. He is costly, but he is the only one that gave me a written estimate and definite time frame for
completion. I have seen his work. Suffice it to say, his work has gone for much more money than mine will probably be worth at many high class auctions. Let's hope third time is the charm as they say.
