Santa Fe 500 - September 24 & 25, 2014
The Open Road Tours that have been established as a series of 3
individual daily drives, associated with the last few years of the
Santa Fe Concorso, have morphed into a two day, 500 mile overnight
road tour, named bThe Santa Fe 500b.
*Santa Fe 500 update:*
*The initial block of 15 rooms that were reserved for the Santa Fe 500
were immediately sold out. We have reserved another block of 15 rooms
which are now available by calling the
El Monte Sagrado Inn (888-213-4419).
We now have 15 cars and 30 people signed up for this two day, 500 mile
road trip prior the this years Santa Fe Concorso. We expect over 30 cars
and 60 attendees to join us on the "500".*
The concept: bletbs get in our cars after a nice breakfast and go for a
ride as a group and stay overnight someplaceb. Then the next day, bletbs
drive someplace else before we return to Santa Feb.
Basically, Bob and Paul have mapped out two full days of Santa Fe 500
Tours that begin on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at breakfast, and put
us into Taos same day, by late afternoon. We have made arrangements
to stay at the El Monte Sagrado Inn, (888 213 4419) and we will have
dinner as a group there Wednesday evening. After some adult beverages,
and a good nightbs sleep we will again meet for breakfast at the El
Monte Segrado, prior to a 9:30am departure to the West and North.
El Monte Sagrado Inn will provide our group a designated parking area
exclusive to the Santa Fe 500 tour.
We decided to charge $50.00 per person, and provide breakfast both days,
and full route maps. If we are flush with leftover cash, we might even
buy some of you a drink at the end of day two.
Now, herebs the really tuff part. You need to call the El Monte Sagrado
right now (yes right now) and make reservations for Wednesday night
September the 24th, 2014,so you wonbt have to sleep in your car. Their
number is 888 213 4419 and ask for the Santa Fe 500 Group Rate.
Once youbve done that, send a check to Bob for $50 per person so we know
you are coming, and we can print enough guide books. Use address at the
end of this message.
Bob created this lovely artwork (above) and each tour book will feature
a copy on the front cover. If asked nicely, Bob will sign it for you.
This two day event will get you back to Santa Fe by late afternoon on
Thursday the 25th, in time to prep your car for Sundaybs Concorso, and
go to all of the Friday Concorso seminars and evening social events.
Bob and Paul have mapped out beautiful twisty roads in Northern New
Mexico, all with occasional gas stations and spotty cell service included.
We invite cars of all years, makes, and models to participate. (British
cars are expected to follow toward the back so unavoidable oil leaks
wonbt cause others traction loss.) So pass the word, invite your friends,
We hope to make this a very social event, with ample rest stops. Guide
books will include Bobbs semi authentic quips of broadside historyb.
Lunches, dinner, and rooms are not included, just breakfasts, maps and
quips.
Please come join us for the First Santa Fe 500. Donbt forget to sign up
soon, as rooms are booking up. We expect an excellent turn out, and lots
of fun with fellow caraholics.
Specific instructions for the breakfast gathering on Wednesday September
24th will be sent out upon receipt of entry fees, and posted on this web
page. Tour books will be provided at the drivers meeting on the 24th.
