Apart from selling cars it was their main business selling tuning parts. The cars were built by BMC not DHMC (Donald Healey Motor Company). In the 60s the influence of DHMC in the design and development of the cars was very small.
It was just marketing they have done when promoting their aftermarket parts.

For the record, any time the subject of modifying the cars came up, Donald
Healey and Geoffrey Healey insisted that it was the way to go.

Improving the cars does not insult the designers (Geoffrey and Donald Healey,
etc.).

They did what they could with the technology of the day. Now that we know that
asbestos is harmful, and that diverting heat is a better way to get the heat
away we have choices. Austin and Healey never did a great job of keeping that
heat out of the car. You'd be fool to think otherwise.

Sure people are lining their cars with all manor of heat foils and such. Using
spacers and simple metal shields is a great part of that equation as it's much
easier keep the chassis cool if it never gets hot in the first place.

Does the stock setup work well? No. Can it be improved easily using modern
technology? Yes.

See the article in November 2013 Classic Motorsports magazine with Steve
Thompton's car in it. Or maybe not. There is some pretty thin skin on this
list.
