Hi Dan -

Yes, easy.  Buy a Toyota.

Jokes aside, every time you wash the car, hose the area out with a strong
stream of water, crap builds up in there and that's what causes the rust.
 Then drive it immediately after you wash to dry out the car.  Doing it
this way will help you prevent having rust for at least as long as you own
the car.
