[Healeys] Overdrive problem

Hi
Have read somewhere that EP oils should not be used in places where you 
have yellow metal bits, because the EP additives are aggressive against 
yellow metal . In a gearbox of a 1960 3000 there are yellow metal bits.
How much truth it is in this statement I don't know.
