G'day

Whenever you fit new brake shoes you should have them skimmed to the inside
diameter shape of the drum. It provides for more effective braking as you
have maximum contact surface between the shoe and drum.

You should also have the drums balance which makes a huge difference.

No they are not handed. Why did you take them off? If you replaced the
shoes, you should have them arced to the drums, after having the drums
cleans and true.
