I experienced the same problem. The rocker shaft pedestal studs on the spark
plug side of the head are drilled completely thru the head & oil was seeping
down the studs & thru the threads. The drillings for the studs are located
above the spark plugs. Not easy to see with the engine in the car. Use a
mirror. I left the rocker shaft & pedestals in place & removed one stud at a
time. I then cleaned each hole & threads as carefully as possible to remove
the oil & applied a good hi temp sealant to the stud & reinserted it. I think
I used Permatex Aviation sealant. No more oil around the plugs.

Subject: [Healeys] liquid under spark plug?

Hi list,
On my 67 BJ-8,just starting to use the car a little more, I
noticed a small spot of oil? or not sure what under the # 1 and # 2 spark
plug in the recess in the head? Almost as it had leaked out of the spark
plug.
I did check the torque on both plugs and they were spot on. It didn't smell
like gas and looked like oil ? Any thoughts?
              Thanks , Don
