If you checked it when cold the day after running the car, it could be condensed water or fuel.

If it is oil, it could mean that your banjo bolt on your rocker assembly is loose, and oil is pooling in the head when running the car.

Subject: [Healeys] liquid under spark plug?

Hi list,
On my 67 BJ-8,just starting to use the car a little more, I
noticed a small spot of oil? or not sure what under the # 1 and # 2 spark
plug in the recess in the head? Almost as it had leaked out of the spark plug.
I did check the torque on both plugs and they were spot on. It didn't smell
like gas and looked like oil ? Any thoughts?
              Thanks , Don
