[Healeys] Voltage Regulator

On my recent road trip my battery dumped acid into the boot.  Looks like the regulator is overcharging--getting almost 
16V @ 1,800RPM (damn Lucas electrics, only got 180K miles on it).

Looks like there's an adjustment procedure in the manual, anyone had luck with that, or is it replacement time?
