[Healeys] When did they start using the M on the emblem?

It's my understanding from Gerry Coker that the M with wires on the sides so
that it could be wired around the notch in the 100 flash was first made up by
a local jeweler in Warwick and was given by Donald to customers who had just
had their BN1s upgraded to Le Mans specs at his shop in Warwick. (though It
isn't listed as one of the elements in the Le Mans modification kit). When the
cars began to be sold from the factory, after having been modified by DMH,
they also got the little M fastened on.

You're absolutlely right, Gary. The "M" designation isn't mentioned.
The leaflet is for an "A-H 100 with 'LeMans' modifications".
Did the on again- off again letter "M" on the grille badge first appear on
the
Earls Court BN2 ?
