There are only 6 studs associated with these two joints. That does not seem
like a lot for two surfaces that were not intended to have gaskets. It seems
like adding gaskets might help, unless the thickness of two thin (.003"-.004")
gaskets would cause some issue. I assume this area is NOT subject to high
pressure oil, corect? I ask Quantum Mechanics about the leak & also the slow
shifting, but so far have not received the courtesy of a reply.

Subject: [Healeys] OD Brake ring/casing leak

Interesting to hear that the OD front casing - brake ring - rear
casing joints are starting to leak. I just did a bunch of work to the
trans and OD but did not touch that joint. I am wondering if I should
redo it now.

Have others had problems with this joint leaking too?
