Where do the crush washers go? Down in the hole in the master cylinder or do
they fit under the head of the tube nut? If in the hole where do you get the
proper crush washer?

I should have mentioned that I am using crush washers because they
arerecommended for stainless steel lines; which I have.

Thanks for the descriptions!

Themaster cylinders that use a remote reservoir have two fittings in them. The
fitting on the end is connected to the reservoir & is designedfor what I will
call an inverted flair. The other fitting is connected tothe brake lines & is
designed for what I will call a bubble flair. Ithink these are the correct
terms but am not sure. Neither fitting shouldrequire a copper crush washer.
The seal should occur where the flaredline meets the mating surface inside the
master cylinder, not at thethreads. The master cylinders with integral
reservoirs only have the onefitting & I think it is the same as described
above.

I just noticed the brake and clutch master cylinder 3/16"lines have
bubble flares instead of the cone type.
