[Healeys] Ford V*

Hi Gary,

I tried to do this swap with the least changes possible to the Healey, much
like Kent Lacy did with his 100M that you featured in 2007 in the
Austin-Healey Magazine. (Kent was very kind and helpful in my swap, I might
add) I also wanted it to look like a period swap. The Ford 289 is in my view
the best choice for the Healey as it's narrower than the small block Chevy and
requires less cutting of the footwells. Rather than finding an old 289, I
went with the modern equivalent. It's a 5.0L 2001 Ford Explorer motor
converted to carb. With a new cam, it dyno'ed at 345 hp at the crank.

Rick
