[Healeys] Powder coat steering box

I would like to powder coat the steering box and column. However, the 
column is soldered to the steering box. The powder that I have been 
using curs @ 400 degrees F which may be very close to or over the 
melt point of the solder.

Have people experienced a problem with the column separating from the 
box? Does anyone know the melting point of the solder that was used? 
Any suggestions or comments?
