[Healeys] Spring washers don't work !

Derek, the effectiveness of a spring washers fully depends on its quality. A
good spring washers is made out of spring steel, and the ends should show a
sharp 'curl' upwards. With a good quality spring washer you can cut your
skin. Unfortunately most of the usual spring washers only have ends cut at
an angle and slightly offset ends - when you flatten them by tightening the
nut they are as non-effective as a flat washer.
