Original Response too long so here is Part1

Team.
I am knocked out by the rapid response and positive feedback received from
so many of you. It was with a little trepidation that I published the pics
as I wasn't sure whether the general response might have been that I had
somehow spoilt this early car.

I have retained almost all of the original mechanicals of the car and apart
from repair sections, all of the original body panels. All of the
modifications I have made can be easily reversed if a later custodian (after
the grandchildren sell off my estate) should want to go original.

The interior is closely faithful to the Longbridge cars and I have to thank
RichC for guidance in the construction of the rear three-quarter panels
(which I modified into a one-piece item) and Peter Svilans for details of
the centre armrest, with the distinctive 'S' curve of the leading edge.
Keith Bates at Ahead 4 Healeys and the lovely Roseanne were a big help in
getting this right, together with the patterns for the stitched vinyl wheel
arch covers in the rear.

Your feedback also contained many questions so I thought an open reply to
the list would be the most appropriate way of answering.

The fuel system is fairly standard but the delivery line is routed through
the cockpit and exits through the roof of the LH footwell to a Malpassi fuel
filter/regulator. The devil is in the detail and you may have noticed that
the float chamber lids have been swapped over to put the banjos very close
together. That was so that I could get to the air filter mounting bolts more
easily.

The steering wheel is an original adjustable 'banjo' wheel modified to 15"
diameter with an inlaid Nardi style wood rim.  The wheel was built by the
genius that is Mike Lempert.  I had the pleasure of meeting Mike at Vermont
Conclave in 2007 and he is an absolute gent. Whilst mentioning Mike,
BlueHealey is fitted with one of his 11:39 rear ends too.

The engine turned firewall is 1mm stainless supplied by James E. Pearce,
Specialist Coachbuilders here in the UK.

Top quality but not low cost <grin>.  It is fixed to the firewall using PU
adhesive to keep the clean look and avoid any drilling for fixings. It can
be removed if necessary using mig welding wire as a long cheese cutter to
slice through the adhesive. Don't ask how I know !!
