Send the heritage folks an email to double-check. I guess they're working off
old microfilm or so, mistakes are easily made. I had to send mine back 2x.
If you're pretty certain about that number then you're probably right.

Subject:
[Healeys] British Motor Heritage Certificate - Gearbox Number

My Heritage
cert came today, it indicates that my gearbox number should
be "5140"

My
gearbox number is "5149"

Seems pretty unlikely to me that somewhere in time,
somebody replaced my
gearbox with one this close?

Stranger things may have
happened, but seems a little odd in the cosmic
order of 40,000 or so cars
built that mine would end up with a gearbox
swap with a number sequentially 9
off.

Could it be that the records or the Heritage cert are wrong?

Thoughts?
