  Ed,
I do not have the habit of disconnecting the oil pressure gauge after 
every journey. The last time I disconnected one was at least 25 years 
ago when rebuilding my car. When connected up it will not drain very 
quickly.
You must have a very intolerant wife. I always get my new clothes oiled 
up somehow, never got a complaint. SWMBO knows perfectly well it's no 
use complaining.
