Dave,
What is the basis for stating that there is not enough voltage to make platinum plugs work efficiently? The metals conduction is similar (platinum is better) and a gap is a gap. Does it have something to do with self-cleaning? I have been running platinums for a while and haven't noticed a problem. I would also think that since platinum plugs wear slower, the electrodes will hold their sharp edges longer thus requiring less voltage to fire properly.
