[Healeys] Install Sequence Needed

This should be an easy one for most of you.

Does the small Air Intake grille on the front of the hood install on the
outside or the inside of
the hood.   It seems to line up better from the inside but it cuts off the
bottom slat of the
grille.     The top grille piece fits perfectly  on the outside but the grille
itself does not, but seems
to fit better from the inside , but still not perfectly.

I have the packing material that goes under the top grille piece.

I cannot find a close up picture of the hood that shows this area in detail.
