[Healeys] Asbestos plate heat insulation repair?

Tom,

You can wipe them with solvent but don't get them too wet. In 
addition you can use a propane torch to burn off oil and grease. They 
are asbestos, of course, and can take quite a bit of heat. I have 
never tried gluing them.
