Wrote too soon. The seats are made from:

"This new Austin Healey folding seat back frame fits all BJ8's with the
folding rear seat. The frame is made
of clear Beech hardwood and the panels are baltic Birch plywood."

Appears that other pieces are made from either Beech or Birch.
