I don't think it's specific to just aol users, I had the same problem and
after un-subscribing and re-subscribing with a new password the list worked
again.

You are suffering from the same AOL-related condition as was I:

"Hi, My name is Michael, I'm a Healey List subscriber and it's been 30 days
 since I last saw a post."

The symptoms are that you can send posts TO the email list and everyone
else sees them but you cannot receive anything FROM the list.

The solution for me was to open a gmail account and receive there, then
have the posts automatically forwarded to my AOL account.
