[Healeys] aluminum shroud

Hi;  I am just starting work on my Healey, 57 BN4, and
have a lot of work to do on the aluminum shrouds,  Can anyone tell me the
alumium alloy. Would be great to know
what the melting temp is before I start to experiment.
The other question is, What is the scuttle  I keep seeing
references to the scuttle and from Websters can only think
it must be the cocpit opening, but would appreciate a better
explaination.
