[Healeys] Fitting new grille to bonnet BJ8

Hello Folks,

     I am attempting to fit a new grille to the opening in the bonnet of a BJ
8.
The vendor who sold it to me said that it should be installed differently than
the original. I didn't take this car apart so can't rely on experience. I can
get it to go on the inside of the bonnet or the outside. The 3 studs from the
top piece seem to line up either way. It looks better on the outside. Was the
original installed from the inside?
