Sorry to hear that.

You might want to keep an eye on your local Craigslist (www.craigslist.org).
Look under "auto parts".  A 6-cylinder cam should be easy to spot amid all
the V8 and I4 parts.

(And if you don't want to buy it back, you'd need to be able to identify it,
and then bring someone with you (legal or otherwise, your choice :).)
