Maybe not, Alan.  The BJ8 registry records tons of cars with body and
chassis numbers higher than Mr. Keyes's car that have cloisonni nose badges.
>From personal observation, I know that many of these appear to be
originals,
not replacements.
The parts manual does not distinguish between the cloisonni badges and the
painted ones, nor is a change point given.
Based on actual data in the registry, the painted badges began appearing
more or less consistently at approximately chassis 39XXX, although there are
painted badges scattered throughout the span of the BJ8 production run and
cloisonni ones as well.
If Mr. Keyes has the nose badge that came with the car, I would suggest
whatever style it is is probably the original to that car.
