I had the same problem with the rotor not fitting on all the way with the
electronic ignition. I held the rotor to the side of my grinding wheel until
it fit. Has worked fine for several years.

I am starting to see this more and more. The rotor will not go on all
the way on the distributor shat with the electronic ignition. It
bottoms out on the timing rotor and thus it just touches the inside
of the cap. I also have a lot problems with the Moss plug wire sets,
the plug ends have high resistance and sometimes they are open
circuit causing to high a voltage. I think that this may be the cause
of some of the ignition rotors that are failing.

If you are looking for a replacment distributor that is electronic we
have been installing the 123 ignition on several cars and they are
great. You have an assortment of ignition curves to chose from
depending on the requirements of you and your car. It is a complete
new distributor.
