[Healeys] Hot Brakes

I just came back from a short ride in the BJ8, air temp was in the high 88's. 
Just before I got to my driveway I hit the brakes to stop at an intersection
and experienced a hard pedal and brake fade. I tossed some water on the discs
when i got home and it steamed right off.  Up to this the car had been running
great.  It has been awhile since I did the brakes, about 10 years, so I'm
guessing it might be time to replace the brake fluid and brake hoses.  Does
this sound like a good place to start?
