[Healeys] Throttle Switch

Seems like new throttle switches are expensive! What's the best way to test
to see if the original one works?

Ground out a screw tab, apply 12v to one terminal and then move the arm to
see if you get 12v on the other terminal? Does it matter if you test this in
positive or negative ground wiring off the car?

Sounds simple but figured I'd "phone a friend" or "ask the audience" before
spewing out the wrong answer..
