[Healeys] (no subject)alternator

A couple of things I would note:
1. Modern street cars don't come with a battery master switch
2. I highly doubt your Elva has 20+ computers running on a high speed data
network to make the car run.  Modern street cars do.
3. Look again at what I quoted from BigHealey >>I can disconnect my battery
and my car will run.  Which is a poor man's field test for determining if
the alternator is charging.  So yes the alternator does supply the
system.<<  This is not shutting down the electrical system via a battery
master, this is open circuiting the system and allowing the alternator to
run wild.  I would also notice that your battery master, if wired correctly,
shunts the voltage to the coil to ground to make the engine stop running. So
flipping the switch is supposed to kill the car, bighealey is talking about
the car continuing to run.

I stand by my comments.
